25 Eating Tips to Help You Lose Weight



Most importantly, try to avoid processed foods as these have all the goodness processed out of them and who knows what they are adding to them. Read labels on food and avoid foods with lots of numbers in them, as these are added chemicals that make food look, smell and taste like they are fresh and natural without actually being it… Get active. Start by making small changes, such as walking instead of taking the car where possible, taking the dog for a walk, going to the park with the kids, etc. Then, when you’re feeling more energetic (as you will when you start getting active), join a gym. Increase your cardio intensity. It is ok to have a steady intensity but it is not as effective as high intensity interval training. To increase the intensity of your cardio, mix it up with weight training. Increase weight training. Ladies, that includes you – please see my female weight lifting blog. Lifting weights increases your metabolism, whereas long slogs on cardio equipment can decrease your metabolism and muscle stores if not balanced correctly. Take the stairs instead of the lift. Walk to work if you live close enough. Use free weight and equipment at the gym, as these make us use more muscles and burn more calories than when using machines. Push yourself very, very hard when at the gym and try to burn as many calories as possible. You will feel awesome afterwards and feel like you have achieved something for your health and fitness. If you have a job where you are constantly sitting at a desk, go for a walk during your lunch break. If you lack motivation, ask a friend to come to the gym with you and be each others gym buddy motivator. When at the gym, listen to music. This can help to motivate you a bit more. Go for walks in your spare time. Check your fruit juices, as they can be high in sugar. Join a group fitness class. Eat smaller portions. Or break the meals into smaller portions and have them often throughout the day, this will help with your metabolism ticking over and will not make you hungry and force the muscles into a catabolic state. Workout with your partner so you both are motivated and stay on track. Lift weights (with good technique), as lifting weights has a massive massive effect on the metabolism and hormones. Avoid diet drinks, they actually make you hungry. And full of fake sugar ewww!!! Hire a personal trainer (me hehe). If you are trying to lose weight or change your body shape, try to avoid negative people and surround yourself with positive people. They will give you more energy to succeed and reach your goal. Drink plenty of water. Elle Macpherson drinks three litres a day!! She is supermodel, so drink water. Filter it if you can. Run on the beach on the soft sand for a much more intensive run. When at the movies, or concerts, or stage shows, or whatever, take water and try to drink that through the show instead of eating sweets or take some unroasted or natural nuts.
